Believe it or not - this is how Indian voters take care of their democratic system whenever it goes out of shape, size and color. It is reported in the Indian press that people of Sahwar Shah Village in Lucknow in India, were fed up with the apathy, complacency and corrupt practices of their best known leaders who were managing to get elected by hook or crook and were rendering no service to the people. This time it was different; they have made a bold experiment. They got together and decided to field the village Beggar Mr.Narain to contest the election for the post of Chief of Village Administration. His sole earnings were the alms given by the village people and they pooled their money, made him file nomination papers, canvassed wholeheartedly, on the election day they voted for him in large numbers and got him elected as the Chief of Village Administration, by defeating about 12 contenders who were rich and had all resources to lure the village voters.
